Why we created this non-profit organization
EVOLVING WITH THE TIMES…
Northshore faces a growing challenge as it evolves to meet the changing needs of our community – with a significant decrease in government funds.
The Northshore demographics are very diverse, the district landscape is demanding, and the increased traffic on our roads impact fire district preparation and response.
Additional funds are critical to keep up with these changes, helps with the cost to operate and acquires technologies, gear, or training not in the budget of the District.

EQUIPMENT/STATION MAINTENANCE
Some of the most immediate funding needs of the department are for replacement of engines or apparatus (Fire Vehicles) that are beyond their service years for safety, compliance and maintenance capabilities.
Additionally, Northshore needs new equipment as it is available to provide a level of care for the EMS and Rescue services they provide.
Also, replacement equipment and tools used in the regular course of their functions, that are either out of date or no longer serviceable or repairable items.
SAFETY, SUPPLIES/GEAR, AND TRAINING
Our firefighters need additional PPE clothing for structure fires and new generation Fire Shelters for Wildland life safety.
Decontamination from firefighting and EMS situations is even more important today than ever.
Our firefighters need the protective gear that keeps them safe to provide the services they do and to have the supplies ready to handle whatever comes at them.
Additionally, they need ongoing training to keep their skills up to standards and best practices.
Community Preparedness, Education, & Awareness
Hosting events and programs that continue to engage our firefighters with our communities in preventative training and awareness.
The hope would be to have key events and regular community activities surrounding CPR, Fire Prevention, Public Safety, Involvement with our children in the schools (Stop, Drop, & Roll; Every 15 Minutes; and Hands-only CPR & Narcan Training).
We encourage community members to know their evacuation zones, to get involved in creating their own defensible space on their properties, join or establish with their neighbors a Firewise community of their own that serve to heighten awareness on very important topics that impact all of our neighborhoods.
